Insane. But that’s not the point. I’m starting this blog because I am an incredible bleeding heart, and hope to reach out to others like me. Lately I have been researching criminal cases involving children and teens, as I hope to major in Criminology, and would like to specialize in crimes involving youthful offenders.
Because of this, I recently came upon a shocking case. It’s nearly as old as I am, so I’m sure most people reading this will have already heard, but in 1993, three teenagers were convincted of the rape, mutilation, and murder of three 8-year-old boys. The teens (Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, Jessie Misskelly Jr.) have come to be known as the West Memhis 3. Since the trial which sentenced Echols to death, and the other two boys to life imprisonment, a wealth of evidence has come about that proves their innocence.
Numerous celebrities, artists, authors, etc. have joined the crusade to exonerate the WM3. I am joining the fight, and I urge others to do so. However, this case will not be the sole focus of my blog, just the primary one. I am extremely emphathetic, and want to fight for those who cannot or do not have the means to fight for themselves. And I’m going to blog about it. Starting now..
